What is a student visa?
If you're coming to the UK to study for more than 6 months, you'll need a Student Visa.
You must:

Be 16 or older

Have an offer from a UK university or college

Prove your English ability

Show you can cover your tuition and living costs

What you'll need
We’ll personalise your checklist, but most students need:

Valid passport

CAS letter from your UK university

Proof of money for fees + living costs (bank statements or sponsor)

English language test (such as IELTS for UKVI)

TB test (some countries only)

Parental consent if you're under 18
When to apply

Apply up to 6 months before your course starts (outside UK)

Apply up to 3 months before if you’re already in the UK
